T02 - Sunderbird Solarboat Team Emden - DE

We are the Solarboot Team Emden from the University of Applied sciences in Emden, Germany. We’re participating with our boat „Sunderbird“ (according to the style of the car Ford Thunderbird) in the Top class. Our boat looks a bit different to the other solar boats. We have a thin semi-planing hull and our solar panels are mounted on decks out of Carbon fiber with an aramid core sandwich structure. All in all our boat only weights 170 kg. With our propulsion system we’re reaching a top speed of 31 km/h. The driversteers with his feet so he has his hands free to pull the throttle or drinking a cold beer throughout the endurance race 😉

We’re looking forward to the great event!

TU Delft Hydro Motion Team - NL

The TU Delft Solar Boat Team is one of the Dreamteams in the D:Dream Hall on the campus of Delft University of Technology. As a multidisciplinary team of 20 student we want to contribute to a sustainable maritime industry. We do this by engineering on the edge with the newest innovations in our solar boat and the development of hydrofoil techniques. We dedicate ourselves one year-long to design, produce, test and race our solar boat. This way we want to excel the energy transition and stimulate and grow talent.

T05 - Dutch Solar Boat Team - NL

Early in 2013, the foundation Dutch Solar Boat was realised. This foundation has developed a racing boat, powered entirely by solar energy! Our boats are used during various Solar Boat races in Europe. In 2018 we will compete in the Solar Sport One championship. Alongside the races, Dutch Solar Boat designs en constructs electronic drive-trains for several boats and develops highly efficient lightweight solar panels. If you need more information, please contact us!

T10 - SDOG - NL

The SDOG foundation was set up in 2013 to launch prestigious projects. After 6 years we still focus on the solarboat because there is a lot going on there and see that there is still much to be gained. This project is 99% in-house developed, designed, manufactured and built. Our racing boat "Phantom", which is inspired by Batman has incorporated many techniques that contribute to energy-efficient transport. Do you want to know what this is and how it works, ask one of the two team members.

A03 - Sunflare Solarteam - NL

The Sunflare solarteam is founded in 2014 after we became third in the A-class of the WK of 2014 with a school team. It took 2 years to engineer and develop our own carbon solar boat which we used for the world championship of 2016, 2017, 2018, and right now in 2019. During these years we have built hydrofoils, a solar dek, a lot of PCB's, a few struts and a whole bunch of propellors! These innovations brought the team succes like winning the national- and world championship of 2018!

A01 - VHL-Nordwin Zonnebootteam - NL

The VHL-Nordwin Zonnebootteam has been sailing with different boats since 2008. Our current boat, the Sinnestream, has been made with sustainable materials such as balsa wood, the lightest hardwood in the world, and flax and aramid for firmness. Last year, we had an amazing season where we have placed second in the world championship. This year, we are slowly working towards some big improvements such as a new hull, a new solar deck and hydrofoils. Our goal for this season is to maintain and perhaps even improve our current position as vice world champion.

A04 - Sinnefügel Solar Team ROC Friese Poort Sneek - NL

The Solar Team ROC Friese Poort consists of 8 students from ROC Friese Poort in Sneek. After a strict selection procedure, the team was formed from several relevant departments of the MBO school. The studies Electrotechniek, Watersportindustrie, Mechanical Engineering and Maritime Techniques are represented in it. Organizational, creative, commercial, technical, theoretical and practical talents contribute to this project. Throughout the year, the team will be busy adjusting and racing with the new solar boat, Sinnefugel. Inspired by its rich history in the A-class, the team is keen to produce the most efficient boat for the top class this year. Sinnefugel has only one goal: to conquer the title in the top class.

A05 - Sinnergy Solar Team - ROC Friese Poort Drachten - NL

With students from the ROC Friese Poort Middle Management Engineering Technology we represent Drachten during the Dutch Solar Challenge 2019! On Saturday, June 1st, 2019 we fell in Akkrum third during the National Solar Challenge. The name originated from the word synergy. Synergy emphasizes the positive side of the cooperation, by joining forces, more can be achieved than with individual work. According to the formula 1 + 1 = 3. The word comes from the Greek word synergy 'synergia "what" cooperation "means.

A08 - WhisperPower Solar Team - NL

The WhisperPower Solar Team consists of five team members who are very passionate about the solar sport. The team started in 2014 as WhisperPower racing but chanced its name for the 2016 season to WhisperPower Solar Team. Since the beginning of 2018 we started our own foundation with WhisperPower as title sponsor. The goal was to build a completely new solar boat to compete in the 2019 race season. After testing and the first race in Akkrum we have done a few tweaks to the boat and we hope for a good start of the 2019 Solar Sport One World Championship in Purmerend!

A09 - Avans Solar Mariteam - NL

The Avans Solar Mariteam launched her first boat in 2014 and competed that year in the DONG Energy Solar Challenge. Two years after her maiden voyage, the team decided to start with the design of a new solar boat. In this project Electronical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students have been working closely together in the design and realization of the new Avans Solar boat supported by Pebble Green Systems.

Recently first operational tests have been successfully completed and a team of 7 students and some enthusiastic teachers is now working hard to finish the boat in time for the race in Groningen/Leeuwarden in the first week of July. Our main goal for this year is to compete and obtain operational experience with the boat, in preparation for great results in the next year.

A10 - AGH Solar Boat Team - PL

We started our project in November 2015, full of ideas and willingness to create a boat which would bring a revolution to marine transportation. “Baśka” is 6 metres long, made of carbon fibre, fully powered by solar energy. For over a year members of our project have been spending long hours in workshop and shipyard where we manufactured different elements of our boat. It is powered with 1200 Watt PV panels and equipped with electric system all designed by electrical team. Moreover, the boat is equipped with the hydrofoils, which make it possible to lift the hull completely above the water surface.

A11 - Spectrum Solarteam - NL

Spectrum Solarteam has started in 2016 after participating in the Sinnergy Solarteam in 2016. Because of the enthusiasm of some members, we started our own team. The team is located in Drachten and consist of 7 members. We try to not only use conventional possibilities, but also try new things on a solar boat! When trying new things, success is not always guaranteed, but positivity and enthusiasm are!
